Scholarships

ERPSF Logo

The Scholarships and Programs Committee of the El Reno Public School Foundation is responsible for implementing grant and scholarship procedures, and making funding recommendations to the ERPSF Board of Directors. The Committee appoints subcommittees which include ERPSF Board members and/or appropriate representatives from the community. Subcommittee members review and score grants and scholarship. Funding recommendations are made to the Board based on the results of the subcommittee reviews. It is the intent of the Committee to support activities that are consistent with the goals, policies, and procedures of El Reno Public Schools.

Awards are funded by the Foundation’s general revenue, gifts, and endowments. Because of the generosity of supporters, the Foundation has been able to endow multiple scholarships yearly. These scholarships are available for past and present El Reno graduates.

Application Review Procedures

Immediately prior to each funding period, ERPSF Board of Directors will be responsible for notifying the Scholarships and Programs Committee of the funds available for awards for that period.

Subcommittees with representation from the community will be appointed annually by the Scholarships and Programs Committee, and approved by the ERPSF Board. The Chair of the Scholarships and Programs Committee will serve as chair of these subcommittees. The subcommittees will be responsible for reviewing applications and making funding recommendations to the ERPSF Board of Directors. All review procedures will be confidential. General grant and scholarship application review procedures will proceed as follows:

  1. Upon receipt in the ERPSF office, an application will be given an internal control number. The applicant’s identifying information will be place on file in the ERPSF office, and the application will be submitted to the subcommittee.
Subcommittee members will individually score each application.
  2. Subcommittee members will meet and review all application scores. The subcommittee may request a personal interview or site visit if it is deemed necessary to make a decision.
  3. Upon completion of the review of all applications, the subcommittee will make written recommendations to the ERPSF Board of Directors regarding scholarships to be funded.

With the ERPSF Board approval, all applicants will be notified in writing of the status of his/her application. Notification should occur by May 1. All awards will be paid directly to an educational institution.
