The Karen Jennings Scholarship Application

A. SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS

a. Applicant must be a present or past graduate of El Reno High School.
b. Special preference will be given to first generation students attending
college.
c. A GPA of 2.5 or above on a 4.0 scale while attending EHS is preferred.
d. A GPA of 2.5 or above on a 4.0 scale must be maintained to remain
qualified for the scholarship once awarded.
e. Applicant must attach to application an essay of 150 words or less
describing his/her career plans, and how this scholarship would benefit
those plans.
f. Applications must be received by the ERPS Foundation, by March 24, to
be considered for the scholarship competition, unless arrangements have
been made with the ERPSF Scholarship Committee chairman.
g. The application must include a current transcript of all schools attended or
attending. The transcript(s) does not need to be an official sealed copy.
h. Enclose two (2) current letters of reference, from teachers, employers,
ministers, or others. Relatives may not write letters of reference for this
scholarship application.

B. SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION AND DETAILS

a. Those applicants being considered for one of the scholarships may be
asked to take part in an interview session with the selection committee.
b. Recipients of a scholarship will have two (2) year to draw funds for books,
fees, and tuition at the education institution of the recipients’ choice.
Scholarship proceeds will be paid directly to the institution. Monies
needed for other than the above mentioned items can be applied for
through the ERPSF selection committee for their consideration.
c. Financial need may be considered.
d. Additional questions concerning this scholarship may be submitted to the
ERPSF Board of Trustees or an EHS Guidance Counselor.
e. Applicants must use the most current application.
